CRAB CURRY ANDHRA STYLE

- 4 BLUE /SMALL CRABS WITH LEGS CLEANED & LEGS SEPERATED
- 1 MEDIUM SIZE CHOPPED
- 2 GREEN CHILLIES CHOPPED
- 1/2 BUNCH SPRING ONIONS CHOPPED
- 3 TBSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE
- 3 TBSP CORIANDER POWDER
- 2 TSP POPPY SEEDS
- 2 TSP FRESH COCONUT GRATED
- 1/2 TSP TURMERIC
- 2 TSP CHILLI POWDER
- TO TASTE SALT
- 1/2 TSP GARAM MASALA
- 4 PCS CLOVES WHOLE
- 2 PCS CINNAMON WHOLE
- 1 PC STAR ANISE WHOLE
- 5 TBSP OIL
- CILANTRO CHOPPED
Heat a pan and add some oil. When the oil is hot , add whole spices and onions, chilies and sauté them for 2 min.
Add turmeric, ginger garlic paste and fry them until the raw smell of ginger garlic paste goes away .Add half of spring onion greens
Add crabs with legs and some salt & mix them well. Cover it with a lid and simmer for 10min stirring in between.
Add red chili powder and mix well.
Add a cup of water & let it cook for 5min. Add some coriander powder & mix well . let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
Lightly roast the poppy seeds &grind them with fresh coconut . Add little water & make it into a paste.
Add the paste into the curry and allow the curry to thicken until desired consistency.
Add rest of the spring onions ,cilantro & garam masala and mix well.
